A saree, also spelled as sari, is a traditional garment worn primarily by women in India, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. It is a long piece of cloth, usually between five to nine yards in length, that is draped around the body in various styles, with one end typically worn over the shoulder.

Sarees are made from a variety of fabrics, including silk, cotton, chiffon, georgette, and synthetic materials. They come in a wide range of colors, designs, and patterns, with each region in India having its own distinct style of saree. Popular types of sarees include Banarasi silk, Kanjeevaram silk, Chanderi silk, Dhakai Jamdani, and Bandhani.
